I have thoughts. Maybe, God will speak through me and through this blog to someone else. If one person is touched by something He says to them through 'nightwatch', I am dancing :)Christ is my life.
Psalms 30:11,12 (AMP)
You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have put off my sackcloth and girded me with gladness. To the end that my tongue and my heart and everything glorious within me may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
My question is, if God has chosen me to bear fruit, what is it in my life that prevents me from being used to bear fruit? I don't have a problem with Christ's statement. It is just that I would like to see more evidence of this in my own life. I guess it goes back to the other verses in this chapter about "abiding in Christ."
I guess I should have cited John 15:5&6 and perhaps some other verses from this chapter as well when I made the post.... and how excited I am that someone has a question...especially someone whom I have come to appreciate in the posts of the M Blog. Anyway...yep, I agree it always goes back to the abiding ... So my very best bible...length wise anyways :) says that abiding in Christ means...1) believing that He is God's Son. 2) receiving Him as Saviour and Lord. 3) doing what God says. 4) continuing to believe the gospel and 5) relating in love to the community of believers, Christ's body. What does abiding in Christ mean to you? Does this cover it? Is there more? How much can I 'do" ...if it isn't enough ...then no fruit, some fruit, a little bit of fruit? Does the weather need to be right for the fruit to show, to grow? ... A take-off on the B.K.'s commercial..I think...where's the beef?....where's the fruit?....cuz a lot of us are just slowwwwlllyyy drying up...LOL.
Thanks Guy for your thoughts. They always make me think.
More thoughts stirred up today on the spiritual fruit. Romans 7:4,5. By being joined to Him, Jesus, in order that we might bear fruit. Without the Vine, we are a branch living out of our own life....so when we choose to live contrary to who we are...(in the flesh)...we only bear fruit to death....not to Life. We can never do anything to bear fruit....only by living attached to the branch...Him in me...the hope of glory (Col.1:27) Thoughts?
